Friends & Family Launches Cultivated Toppers with a Daily Dose of Postbiotics for Dogs and Cats

Jul 29, 2026

A golden, intensely savoury broth made from real cultivated meat — now in functional formulas for skin & coat, teeth & gums.

SINGAPORE — July 30, 2026 — Friends & Family Pet Food introduced a new line of freeze-dried cultivated quail toppers, bringing real animal protein and a daily dose of clinically studied postbiotics to the bowl for both dogs and cats.

Add a scoop dry as a topper, or stir it into hot water for a golden, savoury broth and pour it over wet or dry food. An instant way to make daily meals healthier and tastier for cats and dogs.

Cultivated Broth for Dogs

Each topper starts with cultivated quail — a Japanese variety game bird chosen for its nutrient balance and depth of flavour. It's a single-origin animal protein grown over seven to ten days at a dedicated food facility and harvested in small batches. Our freshly cultivated meat and its nutrient-rich broth are freeze-dried together to create this gamey, high protein topper.

We only take the parts we want our pets to eat. So there are no bones, no meals and no byproducts: just real meat and a broth dense with amino acids, vitamins, minerals and postbiotics.

Rich meaty flavours. With over 60% protein and a naturally broad amino acid profile — including the free amino acids that make cultivated broth so deeply savoury — the toppers are built on our Friends &Family umami flavour system.

The result is intensely moreish: dogs and cats love it, and it makes even a plain or picky meal more palatable. Mixed with hot water, it blooms into a rich golden broth; natural sediment may settle, so pet parents simply swirl and serve.

Function that comes from the food. Every formula carries a daily dose of postbiotics, delivered directly in the meat and broth rather than bolted on afterward. The line launches in two functional benefits, each available for dogs and cats:

  • Skin & Coat Glow — postbiotics shown to support skin health and reduce noticeable itching in as little as a month, for a fuller, healthier-looking coat.
  • Teeth & Gum Care — postbiotics that support oral health, for fresher breath and cleaner teeth and gums, no brushing required.

Everyday value. Dog formulas are priced at S$48 and cat formulas at S$28, with each bag delivering roughly three weeks of daily servings — about S$1.14 per meal for dogs and S$0.67 per meal for cats. It's a small daily upgrade that most pet parents can build into the routine without a second thought.

"Commercial broths for cats and dogs are typically made from upcycled byproduct – industrial leftovers, essentially," says Joshua Errett, founder & CEO of Friends & Family. "And they come with frankly sketchy health claims about collagen or gelatin, while there is no sightline into what's actually in them. Our broth is purpose-made for pets, and we can point to clinically proven health benefits."

"Singapore consumers know what they're looking for, they read labels. This has a short, clean label with a lot of nutritional benefit," says Maurice Yeo, co-founder. "The big upside though isn't something you can read on a label – it's the consistently empty bowls at home."

The full range of Skin & Coat Glow and Teeth & Gum Care toppers for dogs and cats is available now at friendsandfamily.pet and at select Singapore retailers.
