Frequently Asked Questions

What is cultivated meat?

Cultivated meat is meat, essentially, made in a different way.

The main difference between cultivated meat and conventional meat is how it’s made: cultivated meat means growing muscle, fat and connective tissue outside of the animal, in what’s called a bioreactor, and then putting it together to make meat. A bioreactor, basically, brews meat by culturing animal cells, just like yogurt, cheese or beer is cultured.

It’s a safe, predictable, sustainable, nutritious and humane way to make food.

Is this vegan pet food?

Not exactly.

Our meat and fish is real – that is, not “fake” or plant-based. It is more or less identical to meat from a slaughtered animal, though thankfully we don’t have to slaughter animals.

Is it safe?

Absolutely, yes.

We put our foods through more safety protocols than are required. We do this to assure everyone we are doing the best for our animals.

What does it mean to gain “regulatory approval”?

Cultivated meat is a novel food, meaning it has no history of consumption in our society. Because it’s produced differently than traditional meat, food safety authorities review it carefully to ensure it’s safe, nutritious, and properly labeled.

In Singapore (where our products are approved), cultivated meat must meet strict standards for quality, food safety, and manufacturing — just like any other ingredient in pet food. This ensures your pet gets safe, high-quality nutrition.

Do pets like the taste?

Yes!

Our meat has a rich, deep, umami flavour synonymous with meat.

Where is this made?

We make our pet food in Singapore.

Can I eat it too?

No, this is made specifically for cats and dogs.
